AL-ARABI WIN HH THE AMIR HANDBALL CUP

Al-Arabi has been crowned the champions of HH the Amir Handball Cup after winning 26/25 against Al-Gharafa in the final match held at the Duhail Sports Hall yesterday. Al-Arabi claimed the title for the first time in their history.

Following the match, HE First Vice President of the Qatar Olympic Committee Sheikh Saud bin Ali Al-Thani, accompanied by President of the Qatar Handball Association (QHA) Ahmed Mohammed Al Shaabi, and HE President of Al-Arabi Club Shaikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al-Thani, handed Al-Arabi the Cup and gold medals, while Asian Handball Federation Treasurer Bader Al Theyab and Secretary General of QHA Mohammed Jaber Al Mulla handed Al-Gharafa silver medals.

The final was strong and exciting and Al-Arabi deserved to win after good performance, especially in the second half.

Al Shaabi congratulated Al-Arabi Club for winning HH the Amir Cup for the first time in his history, saying that Al-Arabi deserved to win, while also praising Al-Gharafa who strongly played until the last minute of the final match, and who also reached the final for the second time this season after the Qatar Cup, although they did not win any title.

Al Shaabi attributed Al-Arabi's victory to the great work and efforts of the administrative and technical bodies and the players, in addition to the support of the club's board and the team. He pointed out that Al-Arabi's win of HH the Amir Cup for the first time reflects the development of their level in the last two years, as they were crowned last year with the Super Cup Arab, and finished the third place in the last Arab Champions League Championships held in Tunisia.

Vice president of handball section at Al-Arabi Club Mohamed Al Emadi expressed his happiness with winning HH the Amir Cup, saying the Amir Cup is a great achievement because it is achieved for the first time in the history of Al-Arabi club, praising the team performance in the quarter-finals and semi-finals against Al-Rayyan and Al-Wakra. Indeed, the players were on time and performed well and eventually won the Cup, he said.
