QATAR HANDBALL TEAM IN GROUP A OF ASIAN QUALIFIERS FOR TOKYO 2020

The draw for Asian men's handball qualifying for the Olympic Games (Tokyo 2020), which will be held in Doha from October 17 to 27, was held yesterday.

Qatar handball team were drawn in Group A alongside Saudi Arabia, India, and Hong Kong, while the second group included Bahrain, South Korea, Iran, and Kuwait.

The first-place winners qualify only for the Olympic Games (Tokyo 2020), while the second-placed will play-off for qualification.

The draw was followed by the signing of the hosting contract for qualifiers between the Qatar Handball Association and the Asian Handball Federation. The contract was signed by President of Qatari Handball Association Ahmed Al Shabi, and the Treasurer of the Asian Handball Federation Bader Diab.

It will be the second time in a row that Qatar hosts the Asian Men's Handball Qualifiers for the Olympic Games, after hosting the 2015 Qualifiers for the 2016 Rio Olympics.

The Qatari team will start on Friday its preparations for the Asian qualifiers of the Olympic Games (Tokyo 2020).
