QSL

Qatar’s Al Duhail play host to Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal in the sixth and final round of 2019 AFC Champions League Group C on Monday. The kick-off is at 21:00 Doha time at the Al Duhail Stadium.

Al Duhail had become the first West Asian team to book a berth in the Round of 16 following their 1-1 draw with Iran’s Esteghlal in Tehran on Matchday 5.

Al Duhail, who are on a high after their 4-1 victory over Al Sadd in the Amir Cup final at the newly-opened Al Wakrah Stadium last Thursday, are currently second in the group with eight points, four less than Al Hilal.

The Red Knights’ players, from goalkeeper Amine Lecomte to forwards Yousef El Arabi and Paulo Edmilson, all were in outstanding form against Al Sadd.

Iran’s Esteghlal are third in Group C with five points and Al Ain last with four points.

Al Duhail are the only Qatari side to have kick-started their campaign with a victory this year when they beat Iran’s Esteghlal 3-0.

The Red Knights, however, lost 1-3 to Al Hilal before pulling off a 2-2 draw with Al Ain in the third round in Doha.

Al Duhail then beat Al Ain 2-0 in the return leg.
