The Qatari national football team lost 2-0 to Brazil in a friendly match at the Estádio Nacional de Brasília Mané Garrinchain in Brazil, ahead of their participation for the Copa America, which Brazil will host from 14th of June to the 7th of July.

Both of brazil's goal came within the first half, Brazil's Richarlison proceeded early as he was able to score a goal in the 16th minute, while Manchester City's Gabriel Jesus added the second goal in the 24th minute.

Paris-saint Germain star and Brazilian National Neymar Jr. sustained a right foot injury during the 13th minute and had to be wheeled off the pitch.

This is the first time that Qatar will be participating in The 2019 Copa America, and the first time an Arab team has entered the South American tournament. The last time Qatar faced a team from South America was in October of 2018, where Qatar beat Ecuador 4-3.

Although they suffered a loss, Qatar's Head Coach Felix Sanchez stressed the importance of playing against international football giants as it serves as preparations ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
