Qatar on Sunday produced a stunning 2-2 draw against former champions Paraguay on their Copa America at the famous Maracana Stadium.

QFA also joined in the celebrations by launching a comprehensive marketing strategy to lure Arab fans to attend matches involving Qatar.

Asian champions Qatar and Japan are the two invited sides at the 12-team tournament that kicked off in Brazil on June 14.

“In order to motivate the team players to produce outstanding levels of play, the Qatar Football Association is keen to mobilize the Arab fans matches involving Qatar,” Khalid Mubarak Al Kuwari, Director of Marketing and Communication, QFA, said on Sunday.

Fans will be urged to go to Sao Paulo and Porto Alegre – two venues where Qatar will play their next matches against Columbia and Argentina respectively, Al Kuwari said.

“The team distributed flyers in the Arab communities in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo with the aim of inviting them to attend Qatar’s matches as well as distributing the flags of the State of Qatar,” Kuwari told reporters.

This is the first time Qatar is featuring in what is the oldest tournament in the world.
