Qatar’s Ambassador to Turkey H E Salim bin Mubarak Al Shafi received the sports excellence award given to Qatar by Turkey’s Minister of Youth and Sports Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoglu at a ceremony in Ankara.
Ülke TV, a Turkish television channel, nominated the Qatar National Team for its ‘Special Award’ honouring Qatar’s achievements this year in sports, such as winning the AFC Asian Cup, as well their current participation in the 2019 Copa America.
A number of TV personalities, members of parliament, sports stars, VIP Guests and governors attended the award ceremony.
