The Qatar Handball Association held its General Assembly on Saturday at Al Duhail Handball Hall.

Ahmed Al Shaabi, QHA President said, "We have prepared numerous studies to aid the development of handball in Qatar, and we hope for the necessary support in achieving our goals.”

With this in mind, Al Shaabi stressed the importance of focusing on training Qatari players across all age groups.

The minutes from the previous meeting were reviewed and ratified, leading to amendments being made to the Association’s regulations. The main change to the QHA regulations surrounds player’s contracts. Going forward, players will now be able to be loaned out to other clubs, and retain their current contract. As well as this, in future the General Assembly will meet in February or March, rather than November. Nasser Al-Humaidi, head of handball at Al-Khor Sports Club, was appointed to represent the clubs and review and audit the meeting’s minutes.

The meeting was attended by the Board of Directors of the Federation as well as Qatar Olympic Committee members.
