Moscow, Russia- Qatar's Yousef Al Kazim was elected as a member of the executive committee of the International Boxing Association (AIBA) following elections held at the 2018 AIBA Congress in Moscow.
Al Kazim thanked HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, President of the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) for his support to the Qatar boxing federation and the other federations under the umbrella of the QOC.
On the other hand, Gafur Rahimov was elected as the new President of the AIBA.
The 137 voting members chose Rahimov with a convincing 86 vote majority, over the opponent for the position, Serik Konakbayev.
