Qatar’s beach volleyball team, Sharif Younis and Ahmed
Tijan, have advanced up the ladder in the FIVB World Rankings. Since last month,
when they were ranked 21st, the pair have risen to 19th place
with 2780 points.
Younis and Tijan, who started
competing today at the Ostrava Beach Open in The Czech Republic, have been on a
high this season.
Recently, the pair won a bronze
medal at the Katara Beach Volleyball Championship, one of the eight locations
for the four-star FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour, which begins in The Hague,
The Netherlands.
Doha hosted the second
tour this March. The event concludes in Moscow, which will host the eighth part of the tour, from the 8th to the 12th of August.
