SCHOOLS FOOTBALL FESTIVAL PRESS CONFERENCE HELD

QSL

The Qatar Stars League (QSL) held a Press conference at its headquarters at the Al Bidda Tower on Monday in connection with the football festival to be held at the Yarmouk Preparatory School for Boys on Wednesday, 21st November, marking the start date of the 2022 World Cup.

The festival is a joint initiative by the QSL, Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC) and Ministry of Education and Higher Education.

QSL’s Executive Director of Marketing, Sales and Communications Hassan Rabia Al Kuwari, Ministry of Education and Higher Education’s Director of Public Relations and Communication Hassan Al Mohammadi, SC’s Head of Sports and Culture Ali Al Mahmoud and Yarmouk school Principal Ibrahim Al Eidan addressed the Press conference.

The school’s Sports Education Co-ordinator Abdullah Mubarak and Physical Education Teacher Khamis Mohammed Al Kuwari also attended the conference.

Al Kuwari pointed out that the QSL was glad to be partnering the SC, Ministry of Education and Higher Education and Yarmouk school in organising such a good initiative.

“Community has an important place in the QSL’s commitment towards Corporate Social Responsibility. The great emphasis given to promote the culture of football in general and sports in general has made Doha a major sports hub.

“The QSL is a big partner in all events promoting football. We’ve been part of many events that involve the society and country. The festival will see the participation of a number of QNB Stars League stars. The Yarmouk school deserves praise for taking initiatives like this.

“On Wednesday, 21st November, we’ll mark the four-year countdown to an exceptional event not just for the State of Qatar, but for the entire Arab world — the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. We’re all looking forward to this tournament happening in this land. Qatar welcomes everyone.

“We’re keen on engaging all sections of the society. We need students on our side,” Al Kuwari added.

Al Mohammadi said, “The Ministry of Education and Higher Education is delighted to be a part of this festival and thereby in the run-up to the FIFA World Cup in Qatar. We’ll use all our facilities and platforms to promote football. We’re used to organising such large events.

Al Eidan said, “We’re honoured to be organising this festival. Students are the most important part of education, which is the base for everything. We must educate our children in the best way. We’re putting up maximum efforts to make the festival a grand success.

“More than 30 schools will take part in the event. The Qatar World Cup is for all, especially for all Arabs. It’s sure it’ll leave a lasting legacy. We’ve to prepare our students for greater tasks.”

Al Mahmoud said, “We’re also glad to be a part of this initiative. The World Cup in Qatar is not only the responsibility of SC. It’s the responsibility of all people, citizens and residents alike. We want students to learn more about football culture.”
