Doha, Qatar- Qatar Football Association president Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Thani yesterday met with the US Representative of the 34th District of Texas in the United States, Filemon Vela, who is currently visiting the country.
During the meeting, they discussed the distinct relations between the two countries and ways of developing them, particularly in the field of football, as Qatar is about to host the World Cup in its next edition in 2022.
Vela, a Democratic Party member, was briefed on the development of work related to the 2022 World Cup and the readiness of Qatar to host the big football event, which is a historic opportunity to accelerate human and economic development, from the field of caring for workers to the concept of sustainability and legacy.
