Three-time Dakar Rally winner  Nasser Saleh Al Attiyah took his adventurous spirit to another level as he joined co-driver Mathieu Baumel on a new adventure on the French terrains, taking their SxS buggy to the 6 Hours Endurance Race in Orleans.

The Qatari champion took on the six-hour endurance race of Orléans.

Al Attiyah and Baumel tested the  French terrains of Orléans in six continuous hours of off-road racing.

“This is a new type of race for us. It’s casual, more about having fun and enjoying the experience. The goal of participating in a rally like this is we get to know the drivers and the organizers. We’re still exploring these kinds of events”, said Al Attiyah.

The challenge behind endurance races is to see how long the drivers and their vehicles can go on for. Coming in first would be a bonus, and that’s exactly what the dynamic duo plan to do.

“We had a great day at the qualifiers, setting the fastest time and securing the first position. This means that we’ll be taking off as the first out of 52 cars. We’re always aiming for the best”, explained Al Attiyah.

Al Attiyah and Baumel partnered up with French rally veteran Thierry Magnaldi, and all three took part as drivers during the main event. The race wasn’t a piece of cake for the dream team who had out their utmost effort to stay in the lead.

Yet Mechanical failures came in their way. “This will still be a very special experience for us and we will definitely come back again for more SxS adventures with Nasser next year,” added Baumel.
