QATAR TAKES PART IN FIA SENATE MEETING

Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation (QMMF) President Abdulrahman bin Abdullatif al-Mannai, took part in the annual meeting of the International Automobile Federation (FIA) Senate, which was held in Paris, at the Invitation of the FIA President Jean Todt. In its meeting agenda, the FIA Senate focused on discussing the current status of women and the progress they recently made in motorsport. The plan to enable women to participate in the sports, technical and administrative ? eld of motorsports was also presented. On the sidelines of the meeting, the President of QMMF met with president of the FIA Jean Todt and Prince Faisal bin al-Hussein, President of Jordan’s Royal Automobile Club. The meeting discussed issues related to motorsport. Jean Todt 

paid tribute to the role played by Qatar in motorsport and praised the new changes introduced to the statutes of QMMF which will contribute to the development of motor sport. Al-Mannai expressed happiness at the special invitation for the QMMF to attend the meeting. “We appreciate the invitation extended to the federation, in recognition to the State of Qatar’s international reputation in the ? eld of motor sport” He said that the president of the FIA valued the great role played by the State of Qatar as well as its attention to women’s sport and participation in motorsport. He called for the participation of women in management and technical matters in addition to participating in races. “I have met with the President of the FIA and discussed many topics that contribute to the development of motorsport and focus on events in Qatar,” al-Mannai said adding that the meeting was fruitful and constructive.
