QATAR OLYMPIC ACADEMY HONOR NEW GRADUATES

The Qatar Olympic Academy (QOA) on Wednesday held a ceremony for the graduation of the sixth batch of the QOA's diploma program for advanced management of sports and Olympic institutions attended by all the graduates and guests of the ceremony, headed by HE Secretary General of the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) Jassim bin Rashid Al Buainain.

QOA's Executive Director Saif Mohammed Al Nuaimi said that the ceremony came after a course that lasted for 7 months, during which students studied and worked hard to obtain the diploma after acquiring the necessary expertise to qualify them to be active in their field.

Al Nuaimi said that the programs and courses offered by the Academy are of a high quality and include many fields and sciences, such as sports management, human resources management, financial management of sports institutions, which allow a graduate to have enough information to help him develop his work, after returning to the institution in which he works, whether sports federations or clubs.

Al Nuaimi added that the students are lucky as they obtained this diploma accredited by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). It is a global certificate, not a local one signed by the IOC President of and the QOC President, he said, adding that Qatar is one of the most prominent countries in the region thanks to the hosting of many international sporting events and owing to the fact that Qatari teams won many medals in their international participation. The Academy through this program and other programs promote education in the field of sports and contribute to the preparation of cadres able to add in its field.

Al Nuaimi explained that the QOA also launched the master of sports law program in the field of sports media, training, fitness and nutrition, as well as the program of sports psychology, all of which are on the agenda of the Academy for the coming year 2019. We welcome all interested and specialists in the sports sector to participate and register in these courses.

QOA's Executive Director said the Olympic Academy is in the process of launching a project with Qatar University and will soon be launching a master's degree in sports administration. There have been negotiations with Qatar University officials who have expressed their enthusiasm and willingness to cooperate on the master's degree.

Al Nuaimi also pointed out that there is a intention for the Academy to become an independent academic institution, adding that the Academy with the support of the Olympic Committee applied to the Ministry of Justice to be considered as a public and non-profit organization and its goal is to serve the community.
