AL RUMAIHI GUIDES VIVALDI K TO BIG TOUR WIN

Experienced rider Mubarak Yousuf Al Rumaihi yesterday guided Vivaldi K to Big Tour win in round four of the popular Hathab Show Jumping Series.

Vivaldi K clocked a time of 36.67 seconds as Al Rumaihi bagged the top prize of QR 9,625 in the 130/140cm class.

Khalid Al Emadi, astride Fiji, sealed the second spot in a time of 39.11 seconds. Al Emadi won the second best prize of QR 7,875.

Hamad Nasser Al Qadi, in the saddle with S I E C Lonnie, grabbed the third spot in a time of 39.28 seconds. Al Qadi won QR 5,250.

Faleh Al Ajami (Ulano, 44.33 seconds, QR 3,500) and Al Qadi (Andreas SPB Z, 47.95 seconds, QR 2,450) completed the top five in a field of 10 entries.

Earlier in competition five (Open Class), Al Ajami yesterday managed a flawless routine with Quick Step to corner glory in the 115/125cm contest at QEF’s Outdoor Arena. Al Ajami clocked a time of 28.35 seconds to win the top prize of QR 3,750.

Mohammad Hazim Abara, astride Cora, finished in second spot, in a time of 29.75 seconds. Hazim won QR 3,000.

Experienced rider Saeed Nasser Al Qadi managed a neat routine with Ferani Paulowna to grab the third spot. Al Qadi won QR 1,875. Salman Mohammed Al Emadi (Best Of Des Forets, QR 1,875) finished four in a field of 21 riders.

Al Ajami expressed his happiness with his return to the podiums.

“I am very happy that I was on the podium again,” Al Ajami said yesterday. “I must commend the move of QOC Chairman H E Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani for this initiative of starting the Hathab Series,” he added.

“This series is helping young riders learn from the seniors,” he added.

“This collaboration between Qatar Equestrian Federation (QEF) and Al Shaqab is helping the riders a great deal. The QEF President Hamad bin Abdulrahman Al Attiyah, Omar Al-Mannai and Tournament Director Ali bin Yusuf Al-Rumaihi are taking a lot of interest in the development of the riders,” he said. “My target is to win the championship. The new season has just kicked off and we have already seen intense battles,” he added.

In competition four, Mohammed Salem Al Marri yesterday emerged the top rider with Gin Tonic Van De Kraneenburg (71.250, QR 1,250). The second place was shared by Khalifa Hamad Al Jaber (Jalieny Diamant Z, 69.167, QR 875) and Iris Nijboer (Rose Alsulaimi, 69.167 QR 875) out of 14 riders.

In competition three, Jessica Waldon yesterday topped the charts with a neat ride with Lusso Del Castegno (69.167) to claim the top prize of QR 3,500.

In second place was Ali Mohammed Al Marri, who was astride Santa Cruz III. Al Marri scored 68.958 to bag the second prize of QR 2,800. Al Marri was the third best with Fernhill Friendly Touch (67.292,  QR 2,150) while Amna Ahmad Al Saffar (Rythm, 65.833, QR 1,550) completed the top four in the dressage competition.
