Doha, Qatar- Ahmed Saif and Mohsen Bukshaisha of Qatar put up an
impressive display in the individual event of the ACBS 6 Reds Snooker
Championship, making it to the knockouts, here, on Sunday.
The two have continued their unbeaten
run so far in the tournament. Saif, who topped Group H, outclassed Sri Lankan
Mohomed Rikaz 5-0 in the morning. He returned to the table in the evening and
posted a facile 5-1 victory against Ali Hussein of Iraq.
Bukshaisha had some tough moments
against Vietnam's Nguyen Pham Hoai but he managed to come through with a 5-3
victory in the morning. His evening match against Hong Kong's Chau Hon Man even
tested him even more.
However, the Qatari cueist did not
lose his focus and touch, putting it across the rival in the ninth and final
frame.
Saif will next take on the winner
between Thai Passakorn Suwannawat and Hong Kong's Fung Kowk Wai for a spot in
the quarter-final.
Bukshaisha's next opponent is Iraqi
Omar Ali who was second in Group L behind Chinese Yang Jiaxin.
Qatar's other players Khamis al
Obaidli, Mhanaa al Obaidli, Abdul Mohsen, Ali Obaidli could not get past the
group stage despite their best efforts.
