FIVE QATARI TEAMS TO TAKE PART IN GCC COMMUNITY 3X3 BASKETBALL IN OMAN

A total of five teams, including teams from the Qatar premier league and the Filipino community, will be competing at the GCC Community 3x3 basketball competition to be held as part of the activities for the Salalah Tourism Festival 2019 in Oman on August 2 and 3.

The tournament is organised by the Oman Basketball Federation in partnership with the Oman Zafar Municipality. The event will see two teams from Qatar premier league in action. The first team being Al Shamal Club and the second team is Al Arabi Club. 

Also included is a team from Qatar Basketball Federation (QBF) and the two Filipino teams that qualified in the community 3x3 league hosted by QBF. It will be the first time that teams from the Filipino community in Doha will be proudly representing Qatar in the GCC basketball competition for the communities.

QBF will generously provide the teams round trip flight tickets, full board hotel accommodation, entry visa and allowances. The two Filipino teams consist of eight players working in Doha and actively playing in the Filipino community here. 

The players are working from different companies and have also played in commercial basketball leagues in the Philippines and in their respective colleges. The players for Alijarah Team are Ronnie Cajayon, Jay-Ar David, Richard Raagas and Oliver Roxas. While the QSports Team will feature Reynaldo Solomon, Andrew Salud, Michael Aliparo and Denver Rote. 

The Qatar delegation sponsors are Alijarah Driving Company, QSports Company. The Salalah Tourism Festival 2019 kicked off on July 11 and will be running for 43 days. It features a number of activities.
