The Local Organising Committee (LOC) of ANOC World Beach Games Qatar 2019 has started its preparations in organising ANOC's inaugural Beach Games from October 12-16 under the umbrella of Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC).

The ANOC World Beach Games LOC is seeking to organise an exceptional first Beach Games where they will be utilising the vast experience of Qatari sport officials in hosting major international sport events and providing good environment for athletes to compete in 14 beach sports at Katara, Aspire and Al Gharafa beach venues.

All competitions in the ANOC World Beach Games programme have been chosen and agreed upon between the ANOC and the LOC.

Representatives from more than 80 NOCs attended the Chef de Mission Seminar in Doha on July 8-10.

The meeting had a presentation on the delegation registration process as well as comprehensive presentations on Games Services, including arrivals and departures, accommodation, transport, security, media, anti-doping, telecommunications, ticketing and ceremonies. The meeting concluded with presentations on NOC services.

The Chef de Missions toured the Athletes' Village, which will be located in the Ezdan Hotel, and visited the different accommodation rooms and meeting rooms. Delegates then saw the proposed locations of the venue master plan as they toured Katara Beach and the Gharafa Beach Sports Complex.

Qatar has been awarded the hosting rights of ANOC First World Beach Games due to its global sport reputation, first-class sport infrastructure, beautiful beaches and distinctive record in hosting major sport events.

Some of the major events that the country has hosted are 2006 Asian Games, 2010 World Athletics Indoor Championship, 2011 Arab Games, 2014 FINA Short Swimming Course, 2015 IHF Handball World Championship and in the same year IPC Athletics and AIBA Boxing world championships, 2016 ICU Road World Cycling, 2018 Artistic Gymnastics World Championship.
