Qatar National Beach Volleyball duo of Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan got off to an even start of The World 5 Star A1 Vienna Major volleyball tour.
Younousse and Tijan triumphed their American counterparts Philip Dalhausser and Nicholas Lucena 2-0 (28-26, 21-18) in their first match of the event. However, the duo also experienced a 2-0 loss (21 -18, 21 -17) in their second match at the hands of Brazil’s Evandro Junior and Bruno Schmidt.
Ranked 4th in the FIVB world ranking, the Qatari duo will face off against Austria on day 2, with hopes to continue their journey to take home the $40,000 first place prize.
The competition began on the 29th of July and will conclude on the 4th of August.
