QATAR'S WOMEN RUGBY TEAM GEAR UP FOR CONTINENTAL COMPETITIONS

Qatar’s women rugby team aim to make rugby history as they will participate in the Asia Seven’s Trophy, set to begin in Jakarta, Indonesia from the 10th of August.

Chef de Mission Hamad Al Abdulla, a Board Member in the Qatar Rugby, Hockey and Cricket Federation said “The aim is to do well. We've been playing for some time now and we've been competing against some tough teams. For the Asian championship, we trained hard for two months at an indoor FIFA 2022 World Cup pitch provided by the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy.”

Qatar women’s team are taking part in the Asia Women Rugby Seven Trophy for the first time and are grouped in Pool B alongside South Korea, India, Laos and Bangladesh. Grouped in Pool A are Philippines, Guam, Indonesia, Brunei and Chinese Taipei.
