QATAR DOMINATE AFGHANISTAN IN JOINT QUALIFIERS

Qatar’s national football team eased passed Afghanistan 6 nil in a joint qualifying Group E clash of the 2022 World Cup and the 2023 Asian Cup qualifiers in Doha on Thursday at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium

Almoez Ali, the top scorer in this past Asian Cup, struck first, scoring Qatar’s first goal in the 4' minute, he followed it up with a second goal in the 10' minute.

Qatar’s dominance continued, as Captain Hassan Al Haydos notched a third goal in the 13' minute, whilst Abdelkarim Hassan scored a fourth goal going into the half. 

Qatar’s pressure increased going into the second half, as Almoez ali earned his 3rd goal of the match in the 51st minute. Qatar closed out the match with a final goal from Boualem Khoukhi in the 67' minute. 

Qatar's group also includes India, Bangladesh and Oman, with the table toppers along with the seven other group winners and four best runners-up advancing to the Asian Cup in China and the final round of qualifying for the 2022 World Cup.

Qatar is set to face their next opponent India, on the 10th of Septeber at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium
