On Monday, defending champions Al Duhail SC beat Al Rayyan SC 2-1 in the QatarGas U23 League at Grand Hamad stadium in the first round.
Al Duhail's goals were scored by Rabeh Boussafi in the 27th minute and Yacin Lafrid in the 46th minute.
Ahmed Al Jalham scored for Al Rayyan SC in the 56th minute, but failed to equalise their opponents.
Al Duhail were able to showcase their skill levels as defending champions of the U23 league, with hopes to stay consistent throughout the 2019-20 season.
