The Doha Marine Sports Club held the 2nd round of the Doha Marine Sports Club Championship, and the 1st edition of the Qatar Aquabike Marathon.

“It’s amazing to be one girl from Poland, versus 28 Qatar guys. However, I want to open the gate for other girls and show them that they can participate, and I hope next competition they will join and have our own category.” Said Wegieknik.

For the junior’s category, Ibrahim Al Mannai was able to capture the 1st place spot, followed by Abdulla AL Bakhari in 2nd, and Abdulaziz Al Bakhari in 3rd

The senior’s competition saw Walid Sharshani jet through to 1st places, Khalid al Muhanadi in 2nd and Abdulla Al Ahmed in 3rd.

“It’s feels good to place 1st in the 2nd round and the first marathon of the season. I am actually preparing for the world championships, held from the 8th to 13th October. Preparing and competing in this race really does help me improve, as the numbers are rapidly increasing in the amount of participants as well as the different skill levels in the competition.”
