The Qatar Tennis Federation (QTF), set within Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex, is hosting the QTF Junior National Open Tournament from the 22nd of September - 29th of September. The tournament was inaugurated eight years ago by Nasser Al Kholaifi, QTF President, in an attempt to raise the standard of the local youth, and encourage them to partake in sports as part of a healthy lifestyle.
"This year, we have around 67 players in the tournament, the level is strong. We are trying to raise the level up to Asian standard so they can play in the big tournaments, which start next month," stated Sultan Khalfan, Tournament Director.
The tournament final will take place on Sunday evening, followed by an awards ceremony at Qatar Tennis Federation.
