HISTORY MADE AT DOHA 2019 AS WORLD RECORD SMASHED BY TEAM USA

History was made on day two of the IAAF World Athletics Championships 2019 at Khalifa International Stadium in Doha, Qatar, as American Mixed 4 x 400m team, comprising of Tyrell Richard, Jessica Beard, Jasime Blocker and Ogi Igbokwe, clocked in at 3:12.42.

Team USA led their heat from the outset, with Richard completing his run in just 44.51, before handing over to Beard and Blocker who maintained the lead with times of 51.20 and 51.27 respectively.

Igbowke clocked a time of 45.44, despite strong competition from Jamaica, Bahrain and Great Britain, cementing his team’s world record.
