Top QNB Stars League side Al Rayyan confirmed that Khalfan Ibrahim suffered a partial injury to the inner ligament of his knee during their match against Al Sailiya in the fourth round of QSL Cup on 20th December.
Khalfan, who underwent a medical examination at Aspetar, has to undergo an intensive rehabilitation programme before returning to action.
The team’s technical staff have given the players rest for several days before they play their QSL Cup Round 5 game against Al Khor on 11th January.
Al Rayyan had qualified for the QSL Cup quarterfinals after beating Al Sailiya 4-0. They are leading Group B with 12 points.
The QNB Stars League will resume after the Asian Cup in the UAE (5th January to 1st February).
