TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iran National Handball Team was defeated against Qatar in a friendly match. Team Melli lost to the powerhouse team 36-18.
Iran will play one more match with Qatar as well as two matches with Qatari clubs Al Ahli and Al Gharafa. Iran is preparing for the 2019 AHF Men's Asian qualification event, which will be held in Doha from the 17th-16th of October.
Iran has been drawn in Group A, which also features Bahrain, Kuwait and South Korea.
Group B includes Saudi Arabia, Qatar, India and Hong Kong.
The top two teams will qualify for the semi-finals. The winner of the tournament will qualify for the 2020 Olympic Games.
