Qatar's Beach Handball team achieved their third consecutive victory in the inaugural edition of the ANOC World Beach Games, after beating Uruguay 2-0 (19,18)(22,18).
The host team, consisting of ten athletes, opened their World Beach Games campaign with a 2-1 (16, 21)(17,16)(9,6) victory over Croatia on Friday morning, losing only the opening period before making a comeback in the second. On Friday night, the Qatari side beat Hungary 2-1 (18,20)(18,14)(7,4) in an almost mirror image of their earlier match.
In their third match of the competition, Qatar remained unbeaten throughout both sets as they took on Uruguay.
Qatar will play their fourth match, against Tunisia, at 16:30 today,
