Asian champions Qatar defeated Oman 2-1 in their Group E joint Asian Qualifier for the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar and AFC Asian Cup China 2023 at Al Janoub Stadium on Tuesday.
Qatar’s first goal was scored by Akram Afif in the 3rd minute, while Almoez Ali scored the second goal in the 71st minute.
Qatar captain Hasan Al Haydos missed a penalty in the 26th minute after Akram Afif had been clattered in the box.
Oman's goal was scored by Rabia Alawi in the 64th minute.
Qatar lead Group E with 10 points after victories over Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Oman, and a draw against India.
