The sixth edition of the Gulf Women's Sports Tournament kicked off on the 20th of October 2019 in Kuwait, with the participation of six teams competing in 11 individual and group events. The tournament will conclude on the 30th of October.
Sheikha Naima Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee of the championship said that this gulf celebration was completed with the participation of Saudi teams for the first time, which is a "distinctive addition", expressing hope and best wishes to participating teams.
The first day concluded with Amira Abu Jbara taking home a bronze medal for Qatar in the fencing event.
Team Qatar's Women basketball team defeated Bahrain 74 to 64.
