FIFA President Gianni Infantino praised the Qatari international refereeing team - Abdulrahman Al Jassem, Salim Talib, Saud Ahmed and Saud Al Athba - after their impressive performance in officiating the match of the North Korea and South Korea in the Asian double qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup 2022 and the AFC Asian Cup 2023.
After the match, Infantino went down to the Qatari referees’ rooms and talked with them, congratulating them on their excellent performance, which he described as excellent. The FIFA president also urged them to continue giving the same outstanding performance.
Commissioned by the AFC, the Qatari crew has previously officiated a number of external clashes, in addition to their important presence in the FIFA World Cup 2018 in Russia and their participation in officiating a number of match through the VAR technology.
