In the presence of His Excellency Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, as well as several Dignitaries of Gulf Football Association, were in attendance for the official draw of the 24th Arabian Gulf Cup, organised by the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation (AGCFF),. which was held at The Kempinski Hotel in The Pearl, Doha.

The Arabian Gulf Cup was conceptualised in the 1960s, with the first edition taking place in 1970. Kuwait became the first country to win the title after defeating Bahrain.

The logo of this year's Arabian Gulf Cup symbolizes the previous times Qatar hosted the prestigious cup. This is the 4th time Qatar will be hosting the tournament, the past times Qatar held the tournament was in 1976, 1992 and 2004. Qatar's Sodefi will be making a return to the 24th edition, as the iconic mascot debuted back in 2004.

Qatar will be looking to claim their 4th Arabian Gulf Cup title this year, as they go up against defending champions Oman and ten-time winners Kuwait, Iraq, and Yemen. The tournament is set to begin on the 24th of November till the 6th of December, with Qatar to face Yemen in their opening match. 

Tickets will be available to buy online from Thursday, October 24 from www.GulfCup2019.qa and at outlets across the country from November 1.
