The Qatar Sustainability Summit honoured the Qatar Football Association (QFA) and Qatar Stars League (QSL) for their roles in promoting activities to combat climate change and encouraging green as well as sustainable initiatives.

The summit was held, at the St Regis Hotel on October 27-28, with the participation of a number of officials, experts and those interested in the sustainability of the environment, namely international agencies, research institutions, government agencies and other organisations associated with climate change and environmental conservation in Qatar, the region and worldwide.

The summit reviewed the significant development that Qatar has witnessed in the areas of sustainability and environmental protection, in line with the pillars of Qatar National Vision 2030.

Hani Taleb Ballan, Board Member of the QFA and CEO of QSL, received the honorary shield from Dr. Yousef bin Mohammed Al Hor, Chairman of the Gulf Organisation for Research and Development (GORD).

On his part, Hani thanked all sponsors of the Qatar Sustainability Summit, which has great importance in the Qatar National Vision, and Dr. Yousef.

“We believe in the importance of sustainability and its role. At QSL, we’ll have future initiatives in collaboration with GORD to build sustainability in the sport,” Hani said.

The summit featured panel discussions on various sustainability and green building issues and provided an international and regional perspective related to climate change challenges and solutions for a low-carbon future, and networking opportunities for professionals and decision-makers.
