In round nine of the QNB Stars League, Al Duhail grabbed all three points in their fixture against Al-Sadd, having defeated the QNB Stars League reigning champions 4-1 at Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium. This resulted in Al Sadd slipping to fourth place in the standings, while Al Duhail reclaimed the top spot, going two points clear of Al Rayyan, who had beaten Al Sailiya 2-0 on Thursday night.
In Saturday’s early game, Al Gharafa SC claimed a 3-1 victory over Al Khor, rasing Al Gharafa’s tally to 17 points and placing them third on the table.
On Friday, Al Ahli beat Umm Salal 1-0, whilst Al Arabi held Al Wakrah to a 2-2 draw.
At the bottom of the rankings, Qatar SC hold the ninth spot after getting their second win in a row in their match against Al Shahania, allowing them to overtake Al Khor, Umm Salal, and Al Shahaniya. Following Thurssday’s match, Al Shahania remain firmly in the relegation zone with only three points, having failed to win a match so far this season.
