The Aspire Beach Volleyball Cup begins this afternoon at the Al Gharafa Beach Complex.
With the participation of 31 teams from 20 countries, the one-star event is just one stop out of 17 on the FIVB One-Star World Tour.
The competition will also see three Qatari teams taking part - Saifeddine Elmajid & Benlouaer Ziad, Assam Mahmoud & Mahdi Sammoud and Denis Messelmani & Ahmed Nassir. Two of the Qatari pairs are new to the competition, with only Elmajid & Ziad having previously completed an FIVB World Tour event in August at the Salalah tournament in Oman, placing 13th.
The tournament is set to begin at 4pm today, with the finale taking place on Friday.
