Curtains come down on Asian Shooting Championship

Under the patronage of  HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, the President of Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC), the competitions of the prestigious 14th Asian Shooting Championships were concluded at Lusail shooting Arena on Wednesday.

On the closing day of the championship,  the competitors fought hard for top honors in the final of  Men's individual Trap and Team Trap.

In the Men's team Trap, the Chinese team claimed the gold medal after secured a total of 418 points, while the runner-up place and silver medal went to the Kuwait team who collected 389 points, while the Omani team seized the bronze medal.

In the Men's individual Trap event,  China again dominated the scene, when its shooters Wan  Paolo clinched the gold medal and his teammate Wang Hao seized the silver medal, while the bronze went to Oman's Rashid Hussain Al Shahoumi.

In a post-event press release on Wednesday, Mr. Mohammed Al Kawari, the vice-president of the Qatar Shooting and Archery Federation and Head of Organizing committee described the championship as exceptional and successful.

The championship brought together 1000 shooters from 32 countries including 136 shooters from the host nation Qatar.?
