Asian champions Qatar wrapped their training at home and arrived at Dushanbe, Tajikistan, where they will face Afghanistan in their Group E clash at the 2022 World Cup and 2023 AFC Asian Cup joint qualifying tomorrow.
The two teams will square off at Central Republican Stadium, with the game set to kick off at 5pm, Qatar time.
Having beaten their Afghani counterparts 6-0 at home in September, head coach Felix Sanchez says Qatar will start as favorites against Afghanistan, who are third in the group with four points.
Qatar leads their respective group with 10 points ahead of Oman who stay in second place with 9 points, Afghanistan in third with 4 points, India fourth with 3 points and Bangladesh last with of the group with 1 point.
Qatar have played four matches and won three – beating Afghanistan 6-0, Bangladesh 2-0 and Oman 2-1 while playing out a goalless draw against India.
