Qatar suffered a narrow 61-69 defeat at the hands of Bahrain in the 16th GCC basketball Championship 2019 at Kuwait SC arena on Sunday.
Qatar displayed an impressive performance in their opening match, coming back from a poor 1st quarter. However, their opponents maintained a consistent performance throughout, and the victory went to the Bahrain side.
The week-long championship brings together five GCC countries, including Qatar, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and hosts Kuwait. Qatar next match is scheduled for Monday the 25th of November, as they go head-to-head with Saudi Arabia.
