His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani presided over the 15th session of the Turkish-Qatari High Strategic Committee at the Amiri Diwan this afternoon.
During the meeting, they discussed the strategic relations between the two countries in various fields, especially the political field, trade, economic and investment partnership, energy, industry, defense, education and media, in addition to enhancing cooperation in the health and tourism sector and projects related to hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar.
His Highness and the Turkish President witnessed the signing of the joint final communique and a number of agreements and memoranda of understanding, including the amendment of the bilateral currency exchange agreement between Qatar Central Bank and the Central Bank of Turkey, and the signing of understanding for cooperation in the field of civil planning between the Government of the State of Qatar and the Republic. As well as the signing of a joint declaration of intent between the Qatar General Authority for Standardisation (QS) and the Turkish Institute of Standardization (TSE) in the Republic of Turkey on cooperation in the establishment of laboratories to facilitate trade and consumer protection.
The meeting and the signing ceremony were attended by a number of ministers and members of the official delegation accompanying the President and senior officials.
