Yemen start their campaign for this year’s 24th
Arabian Gulf Cup with a loss at the hands of the UAE’s national team. During
the match, the back and forth lasted for 21 minutes before Ali Mabkhout broke the deadlock with a
close range header.
Yemen continued to struggle through the match with much
effort but UAE managed to score their second goal in the 38th minute heading to
halftime.
In the second half, Ali Mabkhout completes his hat trick in
the 55th minute after a stunning solo effort taking the UAE to the top
of the Group A standings with three points. Iraq and the UAE top the group with
three points, followed by Qatar and Yemen with no points.
The UAE face Iraq on Friday the 29th of November at
5:30 PM Doha time while Yemen take on Host national Qatar of the same day at 8
PM Doha time.
