Oualla & Al Qadi victorious as Round 3 begins

Achraf Oualla sealed the Medium Tour honours while Hamad Nasser Al Qadi won his second Small Tour this season as the third round of Longines Qatar Equestrian Tour – Hathab kicked off at the Al Shaqab Indoor Arena yesterday.

Oualla, astride Dino BB Z, topped a field of 46 entries when he clocked a time of 29.87 secs to win the biggest individual prize of the day worth QR5,000.

Belucci Van ‘T Vleminkhof, ridden by Hussain Saeed Haidan,  completed the round in 30.14 secs to win the second place as he walked away with a prize cheque worth QR4,000. Mohammad Hazim Abara clocked the third-fastest time of 32.75 secs as he completed the podium. He got richer by QR3,000 as all three of the top three riders completed the task without any errors.

The medium Tour team event was won by ExxonMobil who had the services of Saeed Nasser Al Qadi (Daydreamer EC), Khalid Mohammed Al Emadi (Fiji) and Mohammed Al Ghazali (Dino BB Z)

Al Shaqab finished second as Lusail completed the podium in the team competition.

Earlier, prominent Qatari rider Hamad Nasser Al Qadi guided his favourite stallion Hugo Z in a flawless routine to clinch the top prize in the Small Tour which saw a highly competitive field of 53 entries. Hugo Z completed the round in 43.49 secs as Al Qadi topped the podium for the second time this season and won QR2,500 in prize money.

Dusty, ridden by Khalifa Abdulla Al Khaldi, was a fraction of a second slower than the winner as he clocked a time of 43.70 secs with no errors to win QR2,000.

Mohammed Sultan Al Suwaidi completed the podium after completing the same task on Birddyz in 45.38 secs without any faults as he won QR1,500 for his effort.

Ali Mohammed Al Qadi (Higgs, 46.14 secs) and Abdulaziz Ghanim Al Nuaimi (Fudine, 46.46 secs) finished in fourth and fifth positions as they walked away with prizes worth QR1,000 and QR700 respectively.

President of Qatar and Asian Equestrian Federations, Hamad Abdulrahman Al Attiyah and Ali Yousef Al Rumaihi, The Director of Longines Hathab Tour and Badr Al Darwish, the Secretary-General of both QEF and AEF, presented the awards to winners.
