The Qatar Sports For All Federation-organised Qatar East-to-West Ultra Run 2019 began today at 5am and is currently ongoing. The finish line is at Dukhan Beach, and the cut-off time is 8pm.
The 90-kilometre race began at Sheraton Hotel Park, and finishes in Dukhan, spanning the country from the East to the West,
The first East-to-West run took place in 2017 with just 25 competitors. This year, over 100 participants registered for the event. Previously, the event was organised solely by the “Qatar Ultra Runners” team, however this year the event is sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Sports, and Qatar Sports For All Federation.
Qatar Ultra Runners team is working side by side with Qatar Sports for All Federation to raise and promote awareness regarding the concept and philosophy of ‘Sports for All’ and to expand the practice of sport within the society.
