At the end of the third round of the Qatar Basketball
League. Al Arabi achieved a remarkable victory over Al-Wakra in overtime with
a result of 101-94, and Qatar SC hands Al Sadd SC their second loss.
Al-Wakra started off strong, putting up 19-16 in the first
quarter. Al Arabi made a quick comeback and tacked on more points to end the
half 40-34. Al-Wakra saw life just towards the end of the last quarter when
Al-Wakra’s Musa Muhajareen Abdul Aleemscored a three-pointer to tie the game
going into overtime. The current league leaders enter overtime reenergized,
scoring 13 points earning them the victory to seal their third win on the
season.
Qatar SC overpowered Al Sadd SC in the third round,
defeating the wolves 90-56. It was Qatar SC’s defense that played a factor in
their blowout victory, holding Al Sadd to a 22-6 first quarter. Qatar’s
momentum continued from there on, piling on points ending the third with a wide
margin of 68-39. Qatar SC closed out the game with a 34 point lead, earning
their second win of the season at the expense of Al Sadd.
