The FIFA Club World Cup, which has been taking place in Doha for the last ten days, will come to an end today with a highly-anticipated final between UEFA Champions League winners, Liverpool FC, and Copa Libertadores champions, Flamengo.
With both sides having entered the competition at the semi-final stage of the competition, Flamengo took down Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia, whilst Liverpool achieved a 2-1 victory over Monterrey of Mexico.
At 5:30pm, Monterrey and Al-Hilal will face-off for third place in the prestigious competition, followed by the grand final between Liverpool and Flamengo at 8:30pm.
Following the conclusion of the competition, the following special awards will be presented:
adidas Golden Ball: The adidas Golden Ball will be awarded to the best player in the Club World Cup on the basis of a ranking compiled by the Technical Study Group. A Silver Ball and a Bronze Ball will be awarded to the second and third-best players.
Alibaba Cloud Award: This award is given to the most outstanding player in the final competition as selected by the FIFA Technical Study Group.
FIFA Fair Play Trophy: The FIFA Fair Play Trophy is given by the FIFA Technical Study Group to the team with the best fair play record, according to a points system and criteria specified by the competition regulations.
