ExxonMobil Qatar and the Qatar Tennis Federation (QTF) hosted a star-studded gala dinner to officially kick off the Qatar ExxonMobil Open 2020.

The tournament is taking place at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Doha and will conclude on January 11, 2020.

The event was attended by Qatari officials, key business and community leaders, and several tennis stars competing in this year’s tournament, including Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Stan Wawrinka, and Andrey Rublev.

Nasser Al Khelaifi, President of the QTF, and Alistair Routledge, President and General Manager for ExxonMobil Qatar, welcomed the evening’s guests.

“We’re thrilled to celebrate the launch of the Qatar ExxonMobil Open 2020 - the start of another exciting tournament, and one more great year of partnership with the Qatar Tennis Federation,” said Routledge.

“We believe that when partners respect one another and share the same interests, they can better work together to deliver tangible outcomes. We’re bound by a distinct culture, a rich history, and the values that make the Qatar ExxonMobil Open a unique event that is enjoyed by thousands of people every year.”

“We hope everyone enjoys this wonderful country’s hospitality and the fantastic tennis coming our way over the next few days,” Routledge added.

Tareq Zainal, QTF Secretary-General, said, “Qatar Tennis Federation values the great achievements made through its strategic partnership with ExxonMobil Qatar over the years. We have put Qatar on the global tennis map as one of the top locations in the ATP World Tour. The wide acclaim the Qatar ExxonMobil Open has received has motivated us to work even harder because we believe there is still so much more we can with the tournament”.
