Oliver Kahn unveiled as new board member

To visit the Bavarian camp after his appointment to the board of directors, Oliver Kahn, the legendary goalkeeper of Bayern Munich and the German national team, arrived late Friday evening at Doha from Frankfurt.

The Bavarian camp held in Doha from the 4-11th of January at Aspire outdoor stadiums and indoor fields.  The German giant winter camp is preparation for the second part of the German League in order to compete seriously for the forefront, as the team occupies the third place four points behind RB Leipzig in the lead.

In a press conference held yesterday, Tuesday at the club’s headquarters, the management of Bayern Munich football club, Oliver Kahn was appointed to the club’s executive council to replace Karl Heinz Rummenigge, the club’s chief executive till January 2022.

The former Bavarian captain and former goalkeeper of the German national team, Oliver Kahn, signed a five-year contract with the club starting on the 1st of January, as a member of the Executive Council, and in the meantime, he is expected to work closely with both Rummenigge and sports director Hassan Saleh Hamidzic for the duration of two years.

It is expected that the legend of the club will be assigned to build a new era in Bayern Munich, after the departure of Rummenigge and club president Olli Hoeness, who resigned from his post last year.
