The first round of the Arabian Drag Racing Leagues 11th edition concluded on Friday night, organized and held in the Qatar Racing Club under the patronage of H.E Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Thani, the president of QRC.
H.E Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad founded the Al Annabi Racing team, marking the beginning of the Arabian Drag Racing League in 2008. Contestants from around the globe gathered at the event to compete in the one-of-a-kind regional tournament. Every year, the best racers from not only the middle east, but countries like the USA, Canada, and Australia, molding Qatar’s place in the global community of sports. As a direct result of the efforts of the Al Annabi racing team and H.E Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad in Qatar, they have become one of the most influential and leading Motorsport and drag racing teams in the world.
In Friday's tournament, the eleventh edition witnessed great competition within 11 categories, which include Al Annabi Dragsters, and an interesting category in Junior Dragsters. The first-place winner in the Annabi dragster category was Qatar’s Mohammed Al-Nuaimi. And in the street bike category, rider Ahmed Al-Muhammadi managed to come out on top. Young rider Youssef Al Darwish won the junior dragster category. The second and third rounds of the Arabian Drag Racing League will commence in the upcoming weeks.
