The Bayern Munich women’s team arrived in Doha on Monday evening for their annual winter training camp, and today took time out of their extensive training schedule to take advantage of some of Qatar’s cultural offerings.

With many of the players having visited Qatar before, the newly-opened National Museum of Qatar offered something new. The team took a guided tour around the museum, where they learned all about the country’s history and heritage.

Kathrin Hendrich praised the ‘fantastic’ facilities made available to the team during their stay, “we really enjoy Qatar because we can train well and we have really nice pitches. The people are really nice also.” Hendrich also commented on the importance of taking part in cultural activities in order to learn more about the country’s past, “it’s really interesting, I’ve never been here before, there are so many things we can learn from the country.”

Lolwa Al-Marri, President of the Qatar Women’s Sport Committee, was delighted to have been able to share the National Museum of Qatar experience with the team, “Each year we have this visit from Bayern Munich, we take them to visit one of our museums, every year a different museum, and this year they are really amazed at the outside and inside, and we are very happy and proud.”

Bayern Munich women’s team will continue to train in the Qatari capital until the 26th of January.
