In round 14 of the QNB Stars League, the top three positions remain unchanged, despite Al Sadd edging closer to Al Rayyan, and Al Rayyan closing in on Al Duhail.
In last night’s matches, Al Sadd briefly overtook Al Rayyan in the standings following their 3-0 win over Al Sailiya thanks to an Akram Afif hat trick.
However, in the evening’s second fixture, Al Rayyan put an end to their recent losing streak, claiming all three points with a 1-0 victory over Al Duhail, handing Duhail their first defeat of the season, leaving Al Rayyan just two points behind the league leaders.
On Friday, Al Wakrah beat Al Shahania 4-1, allowing Wakrah to overtake Al Sailiya in the standings and move into sixth, and Al Gharafa and Qatar SC settled for a 0-0 draw.
Thursday’s matches both ended in draws, with Al Ahli versus Al Khor ending 2-2, and Al Arabi, Umm Salal ending 1-1.
The QNB Stars League will resume with round 15 on the 20th of February.
