Baladna will be the official sponsor of QNB Stars League side Al Rayyan for the next two seasons, it was announced Tuesday.
The sponsorship agreement was signed by HE Sheikh Ali bin Saud al-Thani, the president of Al Rayyan Sports Club and Moutaz al-Khayyat, chairman of Baladna Food Industries.
Sheikh Ali praised Baladna’s initiative to sponsor the Al Rayyan team, hoping that this co-operation will continue in the future.
Baladna chairman al-Khayyat said: “This sponsorship of Al Rayyan Sports Club football team comes as a part of our Corporate Social Responsibility policy we have adopted in Baladna and all of our companies, to take part in serving the Qatari society and its advancement knowing that sports are one of the prime activities our government supports.
“We consider the success of the QNB Stars League, with the calibre of the players in it, to be our success.” He went on to add: “We are proud to associate the name of Baladna with this distinguished team and the Qatar Football Association, especially as we realise that Qatar will be the host country of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, with the preparations assuring that it will be the greatest sports event ever under the guidance and leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani.
“This will add another glorious chapter to Qatar’s other achievements in the fields of education, industry, economy, and social life.”
